The National Weather Service in Tallahassee is predicting a week of heavy rain with a possible tropical development out of the Gulf this week.
In a news release Sunday night, The National Weather Service stated that some areas in the panhandle of Florida could receive up to 6 inches of rain by Monday night. By Friday, areas of south Georgia could see up to 9 inches of rain.
Along with the rain prediction comes the chance for possible flooding. From the release, “A multi-day period of heavy rainfall is possible extending into next week. By Monday, as rainfall amounts increase, flash flooding will become possible, especially in North Florida.”
