NWS: Heavy Rains May Lead to Flash Flooding in SWGA

According to the National Weather Service in Tallahassee, southwest Georgia will see heavy rains over the first part of this week that could lead to flash flooding.  The lack of trees and vegetation in areas affected by Hurricane Michael will make it easier for flooding to occur.  That, coupled with the possibility of 4-6″ of rain in parts of southwest Georgia make the conditions favorable for flash flooding to occur.  The storm system also brings the possibility of severe thunderstorms and a possible isolated tornado or two.
