Around Our Area: Speeding driver stopped, officer finds 15 lbs. of pot

Landis King Rollins, Jr. was spotted by a state trooper, speeding down Highway 93 in Grady County Wednesday, just after noon.

The trooper stopped him in Grady County just South of Grasslawn Drive, and in a search of the car, a huge haul of marijuana, about 15 pounds’ worth, was found.

Grady County Sheriff’s Office Deputies and Investigators responded to assist the trooper, and they recovered a .40 caliber handgun and a set of digital scales.

Rollins, 24, who lives on Passmore Street in Thomasville, was immediately taken to the Grady Co. jail, according to Grady County Sheriff’s Chief Investigator Captain Steve Clark.
