Bainbridge Middle School Bearcats fall to Thomasville 9-6

Bainbridge Middle School fell to Thomasville 9-6 at BMS Bearcat Field on Wednesday afternoon.

Even though Thomasville’s Knop allowed six runs over four innings he still recorded the victory. He struck out four, walked four and surrendered four hits.

Stewart, Cochran, Smith and Knop helped lead Thomasville. They combined for seven hits and two RBIs.

Getting hits for the Bearcats were Wyatt Wilson, Caleb Varnum, Austin Phillips, Wesley Morrow and Brad Mitchell.

Thomasville closer Vance put away the final three outs to record the save.

The game’s last lead went to Thomasville thanks to a first inning rally that saw three runs cross the plate on a fielder’s choice and an RBI single by Pyle.

Thomasville tacked on another two runs in the third. A clutch error scored Smith to open the scoring in the frame.

Thomasville piled on three more runs in the top of the fourth. Cochran started the inning with a single, scoring Stewart. That was followed up by Johnson’s single, plating Cochran and Smith.

After pushing across four runs in the bottom of the fourth, Bainbridge Middle School faced just a 8-6 deficit. A two-run single by Wyatt Wilson sparked Bainbridge Middle School’s rally. But, Knop got Austin Phillips to strike out to end the inning.
