Dustin Hodge’s effort not enough in Bainbridge Bearcats JV’s 3-2 loss

Bainbridge Bearcats JV lost to Chiles High School of Tallahassee on Wednesday, despite Dustin Hodge’s spectacular day from both the mound and the plate.

Hodge went a perfect 2-2 at the plate for Bainbridge. He singled in the first inning and homered in the sixth inning.

Hodge handled Chiles’s lineup with ease, racking up six strikeouts. Hodge allowed no earned runs, four hits and two walks over 5 2/3 innings.

Kiratz recorded the win for Chiles. He allowed two runs over 7 1/3 innings. Kiratz struck out five, walked one and gave up four hits.

Hodge took the loss for Bainbridge Bearcats JV.

Bainbridge Bearcats JV jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the top of the first. The rally started when Hodge singled. Noah Bryant got a sacrifice hit to score Hodge.

Caleb Boutwell had a stolen base for the Bearcats.

Chiles didn’t relinquish the lead after scoring three runs in the third inning when it scored on an error and a two-run home run by Dunbre.

Bainbridge High School’s JV team next plays Leon (Fla.) at a tournament held in Cairo, Ga., on Saturday, March 7 at 4 p.m. The JV Bearcats will face Lincoln (Fla.) on Monday, March 10 at 6 p.m., that game will also be played in Cairo.
