Bainbridge freshmen and JV baseball teams fall to Lincoln (Fla.) High School

Not even a strong hitting and pitching performance from Nick Barber could carry the Bainbridge Bearcats 9th grade team past Lincoln at Bainbridge on Saturday, as Lincoln beat Bainbridge 4-3.

Barber racked up three RBIs on two hits for Bainbridge’s freshmen. He singled in the fourth inning and homered in the sixth inning.

On the mound, Barber racked up nine strikeouts. Barber allowed two earned runs on two hits and five walks over four innings.

Lincoln scored one run in the first and built upon its lead with two runs in the fourth. A error scored #17 to start the scoring in the inning. That was followed up by #7’s single, plating #3.

A three-run home run by Barber in the bottom of the sixth inning brought Bainbridge’s 9th graders to within one run of Lincoln.
