The Seminole County Lady Indians varsity softball team jumped out to an early lead on Baconton Charter and captured a 20-4 victory on Friday.
Eleven runs in the first three innings allowed the Lady Indians to put the game away early.
An RBI single by Evan Hall, an RBI double by Taylor Godby, an RBI single by Hannah Buczek, a two-run double by Dejah Martin, a two-run double by Erin Dow, and an RBI double by Hall during the first inning and a two-run single by Carlee Burke in the second inning supplied the early offense for the Lady Indians.
Dow racked up five RBIs on five hits for the Lady Indians.
The Lady Indians easily handled Baconton Charter pitching as seven hitters combined for 19 hits, 17 RBIs and 17 runs scored.
The Lady Indians piled on two more runs in the top of the fourth. A ground out scored Buczek to start the scoring in the inning. That was followed up by Dow’s double, scoring Kaylee Ready.
The Lady Indians built upon their lead with seven runs in the fifth. The inning looked promising, as Buczek tripled, plating Jasmine Mobley and Emily Brown to kick things off. That was followed up by Ready’s single, bringing home Buczek.
