GSP traffic stop leads to 4 arrests on drug-related charges

A Georgia State Patrol traffic stop and an investigation into possible drug activity at a motel resulted in four arrests and the seizure of methamphetamine, marijuana, prescription medication and molly in the separate incidents on Nov. 10 and Wednesday.

At some time before 6 p.m. on Nov. 10 a GSP trooper made a stop of a 2013 Chevrolet Impala near the intersection of Jonah Tillman and Old Berlin Road. Agency reports of the traffic stop and what prompted the officer to stop that car were not available on Monday, a GSP spokeswoman said.

After finding probable cause to search the car the trooper found suspected drugs and called the Colquitt County Sheriff’s Office for assistance.

A search of the car turned up suspected marijuana, about 100 xanax pills and a small amount of suspected molly, sheriff’s Inv. Jerome Burgess said.

Molly is a common name for a pure crystalline form of the drug MDMA, also known as ecstasy. Read More at the Moultrie Observer
