…FLASH FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FOR HEAVY RAIN THROUGH TUESDAY
MORNING FOR PORTIONS OF THE FLORIDA PANHANDLE AND BIG
BEND…EXTREME SOUTH GEORGIA…AND SOUTHEAST ALABAMA…

.A COMPLEX LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM IN THE GULF OF MEXICO WILL SLOWLY
APPROACH THE REGION TODAY AND TONIGHT. WITH PLENTIFUL TROPICAL
MOISTURE IN PLACE…PERIODS OF HEAVY RAIN WILL OCCUR ACROSS PORTIONS
OF THE WATCH AREA TODAY AND TONIGHT. THE MAJORITY OF STORM TOTAL
RAINFALL AMOUNTS WILL RANGE FROM 2 TO 4 INCHES…BUT ISOLATED
AMOUNTS UP TO 8 INCHES ARE POSSIBLE. THIS COULD CAUSE FLASH
FLOODING…ESPECIALLY IN LOW LYING AREAS WHERE THE DRAINAGE CAN
NOT KEEP UP WITH THE RISING WATER…SUCH AS IN URBAN AREAS.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN TALLAHASSEE HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF THE FLORIDA PANHANDLE AND BIG
BEND…EXTREME SOUTH GEORGIA…AND SOUTHEAST ALABAMA.

* THROUGH TUESDAY MORNING

* RAINFALL TOTALS OF 2 TO 4 INCHES ARE EXPECTED…BUT ISOLATED
AMOUNTS UP TO 8 INCHES ARE POSSIBLE.

* THE MAIN IMPACT WILL BE WHERE HEAVY RAIN ACCUMULATES QUICKLY IN
LOW LYING…POOR DRAINAGE AREAS. THIS INCLUDES URBAN AREAS AND
LOCATIONS WHERE STREAMS AND CREEKS FILL QUICKLY.
