The Bainbridge High School Varsity Soccer teams travelled to Albany last Tuesday night and swept a pair of region contests from Dougherty with a 5-0 decision in the girls match and 8-0 in the boys game.
In the Lady Bearcats game Bainbridge led 1-0 at halftime due to a goal in the 36th minute.
Bainbridge Senior midfielder Jennifer Becerra received a pass from Sophomore wing Mallory West, who then controlled the ball, and sent it with a twelve yard shot, to the right corner of the goal, for the score.
Junior Wing Derrical Williams scored the next two Bainbridge goals ,In the 50th minute and 56th minute, of the second half, to give the Lady Bearcats a commanding 3-0 lead Becerra assisted on the second goal when she sent a pass to Williams, who was running down the left side, received the pass and then crossed a low shot, from 10 yards out, for the second score.
Sophomore Midfielder Haley Thompson sent a through pass from the outside to Williams who again connected with and shot for the score.
Bainbridge took a 4-0 lead, when Lady Bearcat Sophomore forward Elizabeth Brinson stole a Lady Trojan pass and turned and promptly shot the ball from center to the left post, in the 77th minute.
The final scoring by the Lady Bearcats came in the 79th minute by Senior defender Rebecca Mulkey, who took a pass from Junior defender Jasmine Taylor and dribbled in converting Bainbridge’s fifth goal of the game.
Bainbridge improved their record at 7-5 on the season and 6-1 in region play.
In the boys contest Bainbridge took a 2-0 halftime lead, and scored six second half goals in a 8-0 rout of the Trojans.
From the onset the Bearcats consistantly attacked the Dougherty goal, with multiple shots, but could not get one cross the goal face until the 33rd minute.

Sophomore forward Leroy Rivera distributed and received a wall pass back from Junior midfielderJesus Contreras and then converted the first Bainbridge goal, from twelve yards out.
The second goal of the first half came in the 38th minute, as Senior Mauricio Granados centered a pass to Rivera, who again converted for a score giving Bainbridge a 2-0 at halftime.
In a span of six minutes early in the second half, the Bearcats scored three more goals to take a commanding 5-0 lead.
The third goal came in the 42nd minute as Senior Defender Alex Ward converted a penalty kick, following a hand ball by a Dougherty defender in the penalty area.
The Bearcats continued the barrage scoring again in the 47th minute and 48th minute on goals by Rivera and Senior Forward Jaycee Castro, being assisted by Contreras and Sophomore midfielder Misael Rodriguez respectfully.
Late in the contest Bainbridge converted three more goals in the 61st, 67th, and 74th minute, to close out the scoring on the night.
Contreras scored the sixth goal as Rivera guided a pass through the Trojan defense, while himself then scoring the seventh goal , and his third in the game, on an assist by Sophomore forward Jordan McMullen.
The final goal in the game was scored by Senior midfielder Michael Bush, who intercepted a Trojan pass and dribbled for the goal scoring from 6 yards out leading Bainbridge to an 8-0 victory.
The Bearcats’ record is 9-3 on the season and are 7-0 in region play.
