Seminole County Indians Varsity drop high-scoring affair to Pelham, 12-10

Game 2 of Doubleheader

The Seminole County Indians Varsity lost a battle of the bats on Friday, falling short in a 12-10 ballgame against Pelham.

Braxton Clements racked up two RBIs on three hits for the Seminole County Indians Varsity. He singled in the first and third innings and doubled in the sixth inning.

Pelham never surrendered the lead after the first inning, scoring one run on a sacrifice fly by Bostick.

After pushing across one run in the bottom of the second, the Seminole County Indians Varsity faced just a 2-1 deficit. A groundout by Troy Taylor fueled the Seminole County Indians Varsity’s comeback. Damion Calloway struck out to end the Seminole County Indians Varsity threat.

Pelham tacked on another two runs in the third. A sacrifice fly scored Humphries to get Pelham on the board in the inning.

Pelham got one-run rallies in the fourth inning and the sixth. In the fourth, Pelham scored on a sacrifice fly by Humphries, scoring Poitevint.
Pelham added six more runs in the top of the fifth. A clutch wild pitch scored Wright to open the scoring in the frame.

The Seminole County Indians Varsity scored six runs in the bottom of the sixth to cut their deficit to four. A hit by pitch, a walk by Alex Fudge, a hit by pitch, a two-run double by Clements, and an RBI single by Jacob Cunningham gave the Seminole County Indians Varsity life. Pelham stopped the rally after Aviles got Ty Sherrer to strike out.

Two runs in the bottom of the seventh helped the Seminole County Indians Varsity close their deficit to 12-10. An RBI single by Tyler Hodges and an error sparked the Seminole County Indians Varsity’s rally. Pelham closed the game out when Aviles got Cunningham to ground out.
