Despite hit advantage, the Seminole County Indians Varsity drop 4-3 game to Pelham in Game 1

Game 1 of Doubleheader on Friday

The Seminole County Indians Varsity lost 4-3 in seven innings on Friday, despite outhitting Pelham eight to four.

Jacob Cunningham handled Pelham’s lineup with ease, racking up six strikeouts. Cunningham allowed no earned runs on four hits and five walks over seven innings.

The bottom of the first saw the Seminole County Indians Varsity take an early lead, 1-0.

The game’s last lead went to Pelham thanks to a fourth inning rally that saw three runs cross the plate on an error and a two-run single by Humphries.

The Seminole County Indians Varsity scored one run in the fourth inning, and then followed it up with one more in the fifth. In the fourth, the Seminole County Indians Varsity scored on a sacrifice fly by Vashon Jackson, plating Tyler Peters.

A wild pitch sparked the Seminole County Indians Varsity’s rally. The Seminole County Indians Varsity threat came to an end when Aviles finally got Cunningham to fly out.
