Bainbridge Lady Cats take first swings of 2015 season at Thomasville tournament

The Bainbridge High School Lady Bearcats kicked off their 2015 season at a weekend tournament hosted by Thomasville High School.

Echols County defeated Bainbridge 9-2 on Friday afternoon. Charlton County defeated Bainbridge 11-4 on Friday night.

But the Lady Bearcats bounced back on Saturday with an 8-0 win over Brooks County.

Bainbridge High School’s varsity and JV teams will host Seminole County on Tuesday afternoon. The JV plays at 4 p.m. and the varsity will play at 6 p.m. Listen live on Live 101.9 FM

Other Scores

Thomasville won its Friday night game against Brooks County 9-1, then started three consecutive games late Saturday with a 14-1 loss to Charlton.

Cairo, Early County, Bainbridge, Americus-Sumter and Brooks County also participated in the weekend’s games.

Cairo lost the 12 p.m. game against Charlton, 7-5, and took a 13-1 mercy-rule loss to Echols immediately afterward.

Thomas County Central plays at Lowndes County on Tuesday, August 11 at 5:30 p.m. The Lady Yellowjackets will play at Colquitt County on Wednesday, August 12 at 5:30 p.m.

Thomasville plays at Cairo on Monday, August 10 at 5:30 p.m. The Lady Bulldogs will play at Valdosta on Tuesday, August 11 at 4 p.m.

Bainbridge’s varsity will play at Miller County at 6 p.m. on Thursday, August 13. Bainbridge Middle School softball will play a doubleheader at Lee East in Leesburg starting at 4 p.m.

Cairo plays Thomasville Monday, August 11 at home at 5 p.m. The Lady Syrupmakers will play Baconton on Tuesday, August 11 at 4:30 p.m. and will face off against Thomasville again, in Thomasville, on Thursday, August 13 at 5 p.m.
