Cairo baseball falls 6-4 to Leon HS (FL)

Myles Knight did all he could to give the Cairo varsity baseball team a boost, but it wasn’t enough to get past Leon HS, as the Syrupmakers lost 6-4 in seven innings at Tallahassee on Saturday.

In the top of the second, Syrupmakers grabbed the early lead, 1-0.

The Leon Lions went up for good in the fifth, scoring five runs on an RBI double by A.J. Holgan and two singles.

Leon answered Cairo’s top inning with one run of its own in the sixth, thanks to an RBI double by Clevenger.

Also contributing for Cairo were Koby Pryz, who had two hits. Parker Duncan had three strikeouts for Cairo, over 4 2/3 innings pitched.
