Cage Cox throws no-hitter as Syrupmakers defeats Taylor Co.(FL) 15-0

Friday was a day Cage Cox will remember forever as Cox threw a no-hitter in Syrupmakers’ 15-0 victory over Taylor Co.

No Taylor Co.(FL) batter was able to locate Cox’s pitches during the game. Cox threw a no-hitter, striking out seven batters and walking two while recording his momentous feat. He got #4 to strike out for the final out of the game.

Fourteen runs in the first three innings helped Syrupmakers blow out Taylor Co. An RBI single by Parker Duncan, an RBI single by Myles Knight, a walk by Koby Pyrz, a hit by pitch, a sacrifice fly by Brick Kinni, and an RBI double by Drew Leverette in the first inning and an RBI single by Pyrz, a walk by Jesse Miller, a walk by Kinni, a bases loaded walk, a walk by Harley Ponder, a steal of home by Kinni, and a groundout by Cox during the second inning supplied the early offense for Syrupmakers.

Leverette reached base four times. He scored three runs and had two RBIs.

The Cairo Syrupmakers baseball team have a home non-conference game vs. Pelham on Tuesday, Feb 24.
