The Miller County Pirates baseball team won Wednesday’s Region 1-A championship against Baconton Charter by a score of 12-2. Miller County currently has a season record of 13-5 and their season will continue in the state playoffs. Their seeding in the tournament has not yet been set.
The Bainbridge High School boys tennis team, who were the Region 1-AAAA champions, won their first round match in the state tournament against Veterans High School. In their second round state matches on Thursday, the Bearcats will host the Griffin High School Bears and the Lady Bearcats tennis team will take on the Eagles Landing High School Lady Eagles in McDonough, Ga.
The Bainbridge High School track and field teams are competing in the Region 1-AAAA preliminary meet in Albany, GA on Thursday.
The Bainbridge Bearcats varsity baseball team has an away game against region opponent Cook County in Adel on Friday, April 24.
