Rod Bramblett, the voice of the Auburn Tigers since 2003, died in a tragic accident over the weekend.  He, along with his wife Paula, were killed in a car wreck in Auburn Saturday afternoon.

Perhaps best known for his call of the legendary “Kick six” against Alabama, Bramblett leaves behind two children, Shelby and Joshua.  A Go Fund Me campaign has been set up in their honor, with many $109 donations (the number of yards of the famous call).  As of 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, the fundraiser was almost to its $250,000 goal.

Those interested in donating can do so here.

Editor’s note: I never personally met Rod Bramblett, but I have spoken with him via telephone and corresponded via email several times.  I always found him to be a friendly and personable man.  On our radio station WMGR AM 930 and 99.3 FM, Rod is the voice behind several Auburn Tiger promotional liners.  Until we’re told otherwise, they will continue to air in a tribute to a true Auburn Tiger fan.  — Dustin Dowdy
