According to Bainbridge Public Safety, a stolen car led to a head on collision on Shotwell Street Sunday.
The Facebook post shows a photo of a black SUV and a white sedan, both with extensive damage to the front end. According to the post, the car was stolen from the Dollar General on Highway 84 East. The vehicle was spotted by BPS and pursued for a short time before the officer made the decision to back off due to the driver’s erratic driving and behavior. As the vehicle turned west onto Shotwell Street, it collided head on with the eastbound SUV.
Georgia State Patrol assumed the accident investigation while BPS Investigator Mark Esquivel is investigating the vehicle theft. The condition of the vehicle’s occupants is not known at this time.
