On Thursday June 7, 2018, during the afternoon hours, members of the Decatur County Sheriff’s Office’s Career Criminals Unit were searching for Jeffery Parker, w/m, 41 years of age, as Parker had an outstanding Parole Warrant. Members of this unit had been searching for Parker as a fugitive from justice for several days and Parker had fled two different locations earlier in the investigation. Parker’s vehicle and camper were subsequently found at a location on Antioch Church Road just south of Climax, Decatur County, Georgia. Members of the unit contacted a white female at the camper by the name of Danielle Wolford, w/f, 35 years of age. Members of the unit were initially told by Wolford that Parker was not at the location but were ultimately advised Parker was in the bathroom of the camper. Members of the unit subsequently took Parker into custody inside of the camper for the pending warrant and discovered suspected methamphetamine in plain view. Wolford was arrested at this point. Both were transported to the Decatur County Sheriff’s Office and Jail charged with the offense of Possession of Methamphetamine.
On Friday May 18, 2018, during the afternoon hours, members of the Decatur County Sheriff’s Office’s Career Criminals Unit, the Criminal Investigation Division, and Crime Scene Unit executed a search warrant at 357 Barbershop Road in Climax, Decatur County, Georgia. As a result of this search warrant over a half pound of suspected methamphetamine was seized with a street value of over $10,000. Also, over a pound and a half of marijuana with a street value of over $1500, and some synthetic narcotics were seized. Also, during the search warrant a large amount of U.S. Currency was seized along with firearms. As a result of this incident Eric Cady, w/m, 33 years of age, and Mandy Patterson, w/f, 30 years of age were arrested by the Career Criminals Unit and charged with the Offenses of Trafficking Methamphetamine, Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute, and other Felony violations of Georgia Law. Following this act the investigation of Cady and Patterson continued and ultimately more U.S. Currency and property was seized in the days following the search warrant service. The investigation into the drug trafficking is still on going with more arrests that may be made in the near future based on evidence seized at the crime scene.
