There is now a 90% chance of development for the soon-to-be-named Tropical System Alberto in the Gulf of Mexico. Although the path is still uncertain, forecasters are predicting 3-6″ of rain for southwest Georgia over the Memorial Day holiday weekend. Because of recent rains in our area, the ground is saturated already, leading to the possibility of flash flooding and standing water by the time all is said and done.
