ANNOUNCEMENT: Reward offered for information that leads to the arrest of the person or persons responsible for the death of Hubert Moore. Bainbridge Public Safety, Decatur County Citizens Against Crime, and the Post-Searchlight are partnering together to offer a $7500 reward. Anyone with information is urged to call BPS at 229-248-2000
2:00 p.m. Update:
Bainbridge Public Safety has released the name of the victim in Thursday morning’s shooting. According to Investigator Mark Esquivel, the victim is Hubert Moore, an employee at the Post Searchlight in Bainbridge.
According to reports, the shooting happened at approximately 6:10 a.m. Neighbors reported hearing an argument and multiple gunshots. CPR was performed, but Mr. Moore passed away from his injuries on the scene.
At this time, the GBI is still processing the scene while Bainbridge Public Safety investigates the homicide.
Video surveillance in the area is being requested and reviewed, however many of the businesses in the area had cameras that weren’t operational at the time of the incident.
The motive is still unknown.

11:30 Update:
The GBI and Bainbridge Public Safety are still on the scene conducting their preliminary investigation. Donalson and Florida Streets are still blocked.

According to Bainbridge Public Safety Public Information Officer Julie Harris, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and Bainbridge Public Safety are currently investigating a death in Bainbridge.
The incident happened early Thursday morning near the intersection of North Florida Street and West Jackson/Donalson Street.
Foul play is suspected, however little details are known at this time.
