Around 8:30 p.m. Sunday night, a Total Petroleum fuel tanker collided with a Nissan Frontier pickup truck at the intersection of U.S. 84 East and the Bainbridge bypass.
Following impact, the small truck, which became wedged under the tanker, was drug several yards before both came to rest in the grass.
The tanker, loaded with a mix of diesel, regular fuel, and premium fuel developed a minor leak following the crash. Foam was applied to prevent the threat of a fire.
The driver of the Nissan sustained minor injuries.
Clean-up will take hours as the tanker will have to be fully drained before it can be moved off of the roadway. Shotwell Street and the bypass entrance at Motiva were blocked as of Sunday night.
