Thomas County JV softball wins two games over Atlanta schools

Thomas County Central JV defeats Parkview 10-6

Kelsie Shoup collected four hits, helping Thomas County Central JV to a 10-6 victory over the Parkview High School Panthers on Saturday.

She singled in the first, second, third, and fourth innings.

The top of the first saw the Parkview take an early lead, 4-0. #16 singled to ignite the Parkview offense. More runs came home for Parkview when scored on a two-run double by #1 and scored on an RBI single by #19.

TCC put up two runs in each of the first, second and third. In the first, TCC scored on a single by Abbey Jackson.

TCC went up for good in the third, scoring two runs on two singles.

TCC added four more runs in the bottom of the fourth. Kayla Shoup singled, bringing home Jesse Chastain to start the inning. That was followed up by Cyndel Waters’ single, bringing home Shoup, Caroline Pope and Jackson.

Two runs in the top of the sixth helped Parkview close their deficit to 10-6. A two-run home run by #19 sparked the Parkview rally. Finally, Kealie Bennett got #5 to fly out to end the game.

Thomas County Central JV defeats North Cobb High School after late game single, 8-5

Thomas County Central’s JV softball team and North Cobb Warriors JV traded the lead six times on Saturday, but TCC ended up on top with an 8-5 win in six innings over North Cobb.

TCC finally managed to grab the lead after a strong fourth inning. TCC scored on an RBI single by Caroline Pope off #24, plating Kasey Melton.

Jesse Chastain racked up two RBIs on two hits for TCC. She singled in the fourth inning and tripled in the fifth inning.

North Cobb jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the top of the first.

TCC quickly matched North Cobb’ strong inning with a two-run inning of its own in the first. TCC scored on a two-run single by Kelsie Shoup.

North Cobb scored two runs in the second inning, and then followed it up with two more in the fourth. In the second, North Cobb scored on an RBI triple by #7, bringing home #35.

The lead was TCC’s to lose after fourth inning. More runs came home on a two-run error and an RBI single by Melton.

On Friday, Thomas County Central’s JV also beat Creekview 14-8 and fell 12-11 to Lambert High School.
