Early lead gives the Miller County Pirates Varsity victory over Seminole County, 18-0

The Miller County Pirates varsity baseball team jumped out to an early lead on Seminole County and captured an 18-0 victory on Friday.

With 12 runs in the first three innings, Miller County left no doubt about the eventual outcome.

An error, a steal of home by Cole Vann, and an error in the first inning and an RBI triple by Landon Holmes, a sacrifice fly by Timothy Clay, a two-run double by Hudson Givens, and an RBI single by Griffin Wells during the second inning supplied the early offense for the Pirates.

Holmes racked up three RBIs on two hits for Miller County.

Cody Chapman had an impressive outing against Seminole County’s lineup. Chapman held Seminole County hitless over three innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out eight.

The Pirates handled Seminole County pitching as six hitters combined for eight hits, eight RBIs and 16 runs scored.

The Miller County Pirates baseball team has a home non-conference game vs. Seminole County on Tuesday, Feb 24, in Donalsonville.
