The Bainbridge Bearcats varsity baseball team battled Adairsville to a 9-9 tie on Wednesday at Bearcat Field.
The two teams were playing as part of the Bearcat Invitational being hosted at the BHS Diamonds in Bainbridge.
Carson Inlow paced Bainbridge at the plate. Inlow went 2-5, drove in one and scored three runs. He singled in the fourth and sixth innings.
The top of the second saw Adairsville take an early lead, 1-0. #4 singled to ignite Adairsville’s offense, before #1 singled, scoring #13.
BHS pitcher Noah Bryant had an impressive outing in relief against Adairsville’s lineup. Bryant gave up just one hit, allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out three during his 2 2/3 innings of work. Stan Long pitched four innings and struck out three; Long also contributed two hits to the BHS offense.
Bainbridge survived Adairsville’s surge and put up five runs of its own in the sixth. Bainbridge scored on an RBI single by Keith Lyle, a two-run error, and a two-run single by Will Kelley.
The Bearcats will be back in action on Friday versus R.F. Munroe School of Fla. on Friday at 6 p.m.
The game will be broadcast live on Live 101.9 FM (WBGE-Bainbridge).
