…The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in Georgia…

Flint River at Bainbridge (US 27) affecting Decatur County.

For the Flint River…including Albany, Newton (SR 37), Bainbridge (US 27)…Minor flooding is forecast.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas.

Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.

The next statement will be issued by Monday afternoon at 215 PM EST.

…FLOOD WARNING NOW IN EFFECT FROM MONDAY MORNING TO EARLY THURSDAY MORNING…

* WHAT…Minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE…Flint River at Bainbridge (US 27).

* WHEN…From Monday morning to early Thursday morning.

* IMPACTS…At 25.0 feet, Minor lowland flooding begins, mainly in the Boat Basin area on the east bank of the river.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– At 7:45 PM EST Sunday the stage was 24.8 feet.
– Forecast…The river is expected to rise above flood stage tomorrow morning to a crest of 25.5 feet early Tuesday morning. It will then fall below flood stage early Wednesday afternoon.
– Flood stage is 25.0 feet.
– Flood History…This crest compares to a previous crest of 25.3 feet on 04/23/2014.
