There is the potential for some strong to severe thunderstorms later this afternoon and early evening, especially across Southeast Alabama, the Eastern Florida Panhandle, Southwestern Georgia and western portions of the Florida Big Bend. The attached image shows the area highlighted in dark green, with the greatest potential for strong to severe storms.
Later this afternoon, showers and thunderstorms will develop across Southern Alabama and then move eastward across our region. A few of these storms could be strong to severe, with the main threat being the potential for damaging winds up to 60 mph. These storms should weaken later this evening around sunset.
