This week’s Bearcat Football game versus Lincoln (FL) High School has been rescheduled for Thursday night at 7:00 p.m. at Gene Cox Stadium in Tallahassee. The game was previously scheduled for Friday night.
The field at Lincoln High School and several other Tallahassee high schools were recently re-sodded and field conditions are not suitable for a game anytime in the near future. For that reason, games are being held at the shared stadium for the foreseeable future.
Gene Cox Stadium is located at 601 Paul Russell Road in Tallahassee.
According to the Tallahassee Democrat, Gene Cox Stadium was remodeled this summer and now features artificial turf, 25 second play clocks and an $86,000 scoreboard that features video capabilities.
“I felt like it was past time for us to do something at Gene Cox Stadium that our kids would be proud of and our community would be proud of,” said Leon County Schools Superintendent Rocky Hanna. The field is similar to one installed at Thomasville High School in Georgia last year. The $700,000 field, paid for with money from the district’s capital outlay budget, will have a cushion under the turf that will help prevent injuries. Its materials will keep the field cool and offer more stable footing for athletes” — Tallahassee Democrat
I tried to listen to the Bearcat game tonight. It said live streaming. Then it says to download this app to listen to a lot of radio stations and still no live broadcast. They even said 101.9 Bainbridge is not listed. What should I believe.
