WEATHER: Tropical Storm Developing in the Gulf; Could Impact SWGA – Latest Update

According to the National Weather Service in Tallahassee, a tropical system is developing in the Gulf of Mexico with a high probability of impacting southwest Georgia this weekend.  Here are a few key points:

Tropical Depression 16 has formed across the Southwestern Caribbean Sea.
The depression is expected to become better organized and become a tropical storm on Thursday.
There is potential for strengthening over the next 4 days as the system moves generally north toward the Gulf of Mexico.
