Montgomery awarded SWGA Farm Credit Scholarship

On Tuesday, May 9, 2017, SWGA Farm Credit in coordination with the Bainbridge State College Foundation presented Everett Montgomery of Thomasville with the SWGA Farm Credit Scholastic Achievement in Agribusiness Scholarship.

Montgomery is a Thomasville High School graduate and a freshman at Bainbridge State College where he is pursuing a degree in Agribusiness.

Upon awarding the scholarship, Paxton Poitevint, the Chief Operating Officer at SWGA Farm Credit, said, “It is our pleasure to award this scholarship to a student as deserving as Mr. Montgomery.”

The scholarship recipient was honored to accept the scholarship that will “help further his professional training and certification goals that he has set for himself and in return help him start his career.”

“Overall, this Scholarship will help me accomplish my current goals,” said Montgomery. “And help me move on to the next and eventually become a more successful professional in agribusiness.”

Lauren Harrell, the Executive Director of Institutional Advancement, was pleased to award the scholarships and to have partnerships throughout the community such as the one with SWGA Farm Credit.

She said, “Bainbridge State College is thankful for partners like SWGA Farm Credit who believe in the investment of education.”

Applicants for the SWGA Farm Credit Scholastic Achievement in Agribusiness Scholarship must meet the following qualifications: enrolled full-time at BSC; agribusiness major, resident of Baker, Brooks, Calhoun, Chattahoochee, Clay, Decatur, Dougherty, Early, Gadsden (Fla.), Grady, Lee, Marion, Miller, Mitchell, Randolph, Schley, Seminole, Stewart, Sumter, Terrell, Thomas or Webster; and must have a minimum of a 3.0 GPA.
