The Bearcat Baseball team is planning a week of celebration with special honors scheduled for two upcoming games.
The first is Military Appreciation Night on Wednesday, April 12th when the Bearcats take on the Tift County Blue Devils. During this special ceremony, the evening will by highlighted by Bronze Star Medal Recipient, Lt. Col. John E. Davis. Davis will speak to the team, present them with an American flag (that was flown over Sadam Hussein’s palace after it fell to American forces), and throw out the ceremonial first pitch. All veterans will enjoy free admission and will be recognized on the field. The Bearcat players will don commemorative camouflage hats generously donated by the Post Searchlight.
The second big night for the ‘Cats will be two nights later when the Bearcats host the Cairo Syrupmakers for a double header on Senior Night, Friday April 14th. Five seniors and their families will be recognized on the field prior to the first pitch.

First pitch for Military Appreciation Night will be at 5:30 p.m. Senior Night festivities will begin at 5:00 p.m.
The Bearcats are fighting for a birth in the state playoffs with critical region games against Thomas County Central and Warner Robins, as well as rival Cairo left on the schedule.
