Bainbridge police make arrest after finding ‘Molly’ in man’s socks

Bainbridge Public Safety arrested a local man on Monday afternoon after reportedly finding the illegal drug known as “Molly” inside his clothing and socks.

BPS investigators received a tip that Willie Fred Williams, 29, Attapulgus, Ga., might be in possession of “Molly,” a party drug also known as ecstasy or the acronym “MDMA.”

According to BPS Investigator Mark Esquivel, officers found Williams sitting on a car parked outside a home on Water Street in Bainbridge on Monday afternoon. In a pat-down search, officers found a small amount of suspected Molly on Williams’ person. BPS officers Terry Pait and Chris Avery¬†also found digital scales and plastic baggies inside the car Williams was sitting on.

Williams was arrested and taken to BPS Headquarters on Louise Street. In a more thorough search conducted at BPS headquarters, officers found a larger amount of suspected Molly inside Willie Williams’ sock.

Williams was charged with possession of controlled substance with intent to sell/distribute.
