Investigators search for stolen wheelchair worth over $10,000

The Colquitt County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after someone stole an electric wheelchair worth more than $10,000.

Investigators were called to a home on the 100 block of East Gate Drive in Norman Park after the homeowner noticed the wheelchair was missing from her storage building.

The owner told investigators she was temporarily keeping the chair for a friend who moved out of state.

Sergeant Mike Murfin said, “Of course it’s a necessity to the victim and it’s an expensive piece of equipment. The victim is very upset about it. Any information that anybody has could really help us out with it. We would appreciate it.”

Investigators said it is a purple wheelchair, but information on the make and model was unavailable.

If you have any information, please call the Colquitt County Sheriff’s Office.
