The Bainbridge Middle School 7th grade football team won the Southwest Georgia championship on Wednesday night, defeating Washington Middle School of Cairo by a score of 50-8.
The BMS 8th grade team will play Washington Middle School from Grady County for the Southwest Georgia championship on Thursday evening at 5 p.m. at Centennial Field.
BMS has won the 7th Sowega championship 3 of the past 4 years. They beat Thomas County Central in 2012; Beat Washington in overtime 12-6 in 2013; Lost to Washington last year 20-12.
During this four year span BMS 7th grade has won 22 of 27 games.

Bainbridge State College Student Life Intramurals will hold its Flag Football Championship game on Thursday, Oct. 22, at 6 p.m. on the Intramural Field located behind the Plant Operations building.
The matchup will be between the undefeated Raiders (6-0) and the Swaggerz (3-3).
