The Bainbridge Bearcats are currently ranked No. 6 on the Atlanta Journal-Constitution’s list of the Top Ten teams in Class AAAA, and the Bearcats are at No. 8 on the Georgia Sportswriters’ Association Top 10 poll for AAAA.
The Bainbridge High School varsity football team face off against the Americus-Sumter Panthers on Friday night, and both players and coaches hope Bearcat fans will come out and support the team.

Bainbridge, which has 5 wins and 0 losses, will host region opponent Crisp County Cougars, who have 1 win and 3 losses on the season.
Appearing on the Jesus and Jammin’ morning radio show on our Flint Media stations Thursday morning, Coach Littleton accepted a check for $300 from First National Bank to go to the Bearcat Touchdown Club, which supports the football team with meals and travel. The $300 represents the six touchdowns the Bearcats scored last week against Thomas County Central, and is one of several ways First National Bank supports Bainbridge High School and its football team.
Littleton names Bearcats’ Players of the Week
Offensive Player of the Week is sophomore running back Dameon Pierce, who ran the ball 27 times for 265 yards and 5 touchdowns last Friday night against Crisp County. Pierce was only five yards short of the Bainbridge High School single-game rushing record.
Defensive Player of the Week is junior defensive back Kerenski Williams, who had 17 tackles, including 5 tackles for lost yardage, last Friday vs. Crisp County.
The Special Teams Player of the Week is sophomore kicker Blake Green, who made all 4 of the extra point kicks he attempted, in addition to handling kickoff duties for the Bearcats.
The Bearcat Award, which goes to the player who demonstrates leadership off-the-field and in the classroom, is sophomore Trajan Harris, who plays tight end on offense and defensive end on defense.
