SPORTS: Bearcats Face Off Against Lowndes Friday Night

The Bearcats are ready to take Centennial Field in 2020

The 2017 Bainbridge Bearcat football team will take the field against a familiar foe Friday night when the Lowndes High Vikings come to town.  Although Friday night’s game is “only” a scrimmage, the scoreboard will be on, so don’t tell the players it doesn’t count.

The Vikings return plenty of star power from last year’s team that finished 10-3 and went three rounds into the state playoffs, including senior quarterback Michael Barrett.  Barrett, a 6′, 220 pound senior, is ranked as the number 5 player in the state and holds scholarship offers from multiple division one schools.

The Bearcats return star running back Dameon Pierce, who verbally committed to play for the Florida Gators over the weekend.  Pierce, who rushed for more than 1600 yards the last two seasons, was previously committed to the University of Alabama before switching to the Gators.  He, along with fellow senior Zyon McGee (committed to Georgia Southern), will lead the Bearcats again this season.

Toe meets leather at Centennial Field Friday night at 7:30.  Admission is only $8 for adults and $5 for students (if purchased in advance).  Adult tickets can be purchased in advance at Bainbridge High School and student tickets are available at BHS, as well as Hutto and Bainbridge Middle School.

All tickets purchased at the gate will be $8.
