Sheriff’s deputies pay friendly visit to new veterans’ center

Sheriffs_investigators_honor_houseOn Friday morning, the Honor House Veterans Center in Bainbridge had some welcome guests.

The Veterans Center asked the Decatur County Sheriff’s Office to come and perform a drug sweep of the center’s building and surrounding grounds.

“The building had been empty for awhile and you just never know,” Honor House organizer Dan West said.

A few weeks ago, volunteers spotted a couple of young men smoking what appeared to be an illegal substance behind the building.

Thankfully, the drug sweep came up clean. After Jake the drug dog finished Dan West, gave the Sheriff’s deputies a tour of the facilities.

The Honor House Veterans’ Center wants to thank Decatur County Sheriff’s deputies Brian Donalson, Pat Trolinger and Jason Williams for their time.
