Nestled at the base of the Rocky Mountains, Folsom Field sits as the home of the Colorado Buffaloes. I know the Buffs haven’t been remotely good in a long time but it doesn’t change the fact that they play in one of the most scenic stadiums in all of college football. Located right in the middle of campus, Folsom Field still had wooden bleachers until the mid-1970’s but has gone through a dozen renovations since and is now one of the true jewels of college football. Plus, where else are you going to see a football team led onto the field by a Buffalo?
I had a chance to go to Folsom Field once but it was a last minute thing that ended up not panning out and I regret it to this day. The rustic architecture of the stadium’s facade give it a true Rocky Mountain feel which it definitely would look out of place without. Also, the addition of a new rooftop terrace section for the 2015 season has proven to be a hot ticket as all 750 were sold in less than an hour. Folsom Field is definitely on my bucket list of college stadiums & hopefully when I get there the Buffaloes will be better than their 7-29 record the past three seasons.
