Thomas University honors graduates of Bainbridge education program

tubainbridge-smThe Thomas University Division of Education honored its students in the Bainbridge program who will graduate on May 9 with a reception held May 2 at Bainbridge State College.

Flint Media’s own Rick Lewis was among the students honored. Lewis has been teaching at Decatur County Schools’ Performance Learning Center and has been taking weekend classes toward his education degree. Congratulations, Rick!

Thomas University and Bainbridge State College signed a Memorandum of Understanding in June 2013. As part of the MOU, Thomas University offers classes leading to bachelor’s degrees in education on Bainbridge State College’s campus.

This year’s graduates are the first to earn degrees through the program. Graduates include (from left) Jessica B. Norman of Boston, Georgia, Early Childhood Education; Amy M. Barber of Brinson, Georgia, Early Childhood Education; Isaac Rogers of Bluffton, Georgia, Secondary Education; Victor Lavatte of Arlington, Georgia, Secondary Education; Rick Lewis of Bainbridge, Georgia, Middle Grades Education; and Sandy Meldhal of Valdosta, Post Baccalaureate Certificate in Education.
