All-State basketball teams include Bainbridge’s Crump, other Southwest Georgia players

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution has released its boys and girls All-State basketball teams, and a good number of Southwest Georgia players received the post-season honors.

Bainbridge Bearcat Tyree Crump, a junior guard, made first-team All-State for Class AAAA.

Stacey Masten of Cairo made Honorable Mention All-State for AAAA. He scored more than 1,700 points in four years at Cairo and helped lead his team to the AAAA Final Four in 2015.

Jordan Harris of Seminole County made first-team All-State for AA. Harris was also named the Class AA boys basketball Player of the Year. He recently represented the South Juniors at the Georgia All-Stars basketball game, played at Savannah State University. Harris averaged 27.4 points per game and 11 rebounds per game in his junior season, and also contributed an per-game average of 7.2 assists, 3.6 steals, and 1.9 blocks.

Harris’ Seminole Co. Indians teammate, Anfernee King, made Honorable Mention All-State for AA.
Kevin Godwin, head coach of Seminole County, was named the AA Boys’ Coach of the Year. Seminole County won the Class AA State Championship in boys basketball.

Jordan Willis of Thomasville made Honorable Mention All-State for AA.

Quenten Taylor, a senior guard at Calhoun County, made first-team All-State for Class A. Calhoun County were the 2015 boys’ Class AA runner-up.

Tamarrion Terry of Turner County made Honorable Mention All-State for Class A.

Girls basketball All-State

On the girls’ All-State lists, A’Tyanna Gaulden of Americus-Sumter made first-team All-State AAAAA, while her teammate, Timia Swanson, made Honorable Mention All-State AAAAA.

Briunna Freeman, a senior guard for the Pelham Hornets, made first-team All-State AA. Freeman was also named the Class AA girls basketball Player of the Year.

Keshundra Price of Monroe made second team Class AAAA.

Danisha Jones of Thomasville made Honorable Mention All-State AA.

Mylashia Yancey, a junior guard for Turner County, first-team All-State for Class A.

Teryetta Chester of Mitchell County made Honorable Mention All-State for Class A.
