Lake Seminole Festival to benefit Seminole County Marching Band on April 4

spring_creek_parkSave the date for fun! Saturday, April 4, 2015 is the date for the Annual Lake Seminole Festival to benefit the Seminole County Middle/High School Band! This fun filled event will be held again at Spring Creek Park Resort on beautiful Lake Seminole!

This event has something for everyone! We have a fun filled day planned, packed with plenty of great things for everyone to enjoy, starting with the Grand Panfish Tournament registration at 6 am. By 10 am there will be vendors open with assorted foods, arts, crafts, jewelry, glassware, school spirit and other gift items. There will be pony rides, carnival style games with prizes, full face painting, inflatables, obstacle courses and Home Depot will be there with the popular Kids Build-it Booth. Don’t miss the awesome raffle items and door prizes, donated by local merchants that will be given throughout the day.

Micaelah_at_2012_LS_FestBack by popular demand, will be the Blind Canoe Race! This is a team event that is as much fun to watch as it is for the participants. Two-person teams will start from the shoreline and paddle into the bay, navigate around a buoy and race back to the shoreline in an effort to win! Yep, there is a catch. The team member paddling will be blindfolded while their teammate talks them through the course. Teams may register online or the day of the event for only $5 per team and winners will receive trophies and bragging rights for their efforts.

No festival would be complete without entertainment, so we have lined up a full day of fantastic performers! Entertainment begins at 10 am with performances approximately every half hour. Our very own Green Machine Ensemble Bands will perform and there will be a multitude of other entertainers.

Don’t forget the progressive 50/50 Raffle that will be drawn at 4 pm., last year’s winner took home over $3000 for a mere $5 ticket. Band members and Boosters are now selling the tickets for $5 each or 5 tickets for only $20. Be sure to get your tickets and be in the running for a huge cash prize based on ticket sales!

All proceeds from this event, fishing tournaments, sponsors, vendor fees, Blind Canoe Race and raffle ticket sales, will benefit the Seminole County Middle/High School Band. There is still time to sign up and be a vendor, entertainer or cash or prize sponsor. Simply go online to www.springcreekwebsite.com for full details or contact Reed Rognstad at (229) 254-0152.
