FBI offering reward for murder suspect last seen in Donalsonville

The FBI has joined a manhunt for a suspect in the abduction and killings of an elderly Ohio couple who is also believed to have committed armed robberies in three states over the weekend.

An FBI spokeswoman said Tuesday that the agency is offering a $20,000 reward for information about 29-year-old Robert Clark. They are also looking for Jeffrey Caley Jr., 28, and Tabatha Hazel, 26, who are suspected of participating in the robberies.

Clark has been charged with one count of murder in last month’s slayings of 88-year-old Doyle Chumney and his 79-year-old wife, Lillian, of Strasburg, a village 20 miles south of Canton. Their remains were found inside their torched car Jan. 22, a day after they were reported missing.

They are believed to have robbed as gas station in Sissonville, West Virginia, a Seven-Eleven in Anderson, South Carolina and a gas station in Donalsonville, Georgia. They were last seen in a green Dodge Caravan with Ohio plates.

The trio was last seen during a robbery in Donalsonville on Sunday night. Surveillance video shows Clark holding a sawed-off shotgun and Caley holding a pistol as a clerk walks in front of them. Hazel went inside the store before Clark and Caley entered.

It’s possible that Clark, Caley and Hazel are headed for Jacksonville, Fla., according to a police bulletin.

Clark is armed and dangerous, any anyone who encounters him or his travel mates should be very careful and contact law enforcement as soon as possible.

A federal warrant has been obtained for Clark for Unlawful Flight to Avoid Prosecution on a homicide warrant . Felony warrants have also been issued by the Kanawha County, West Virginia Sheriff’s Office for all three suspects.

The FBI has initiated a national billboard campaign and established a national Tip Line for information on the location of Clark, Caley and Hazel. If you have seen them or have information on their whereabouts, please call 1-800-CALL-FBI and press “option one.”

The Strasburg Police Department, Tuscarawas County Sheriff’s Office, Coshocton County Sheriff’s Office, Ohio BCI, United States Marshal Service and the FBI are all working together to locate and arrest Clark, Caley and Hazel.
