Bainbridge’s Tyree Crump sets school single game scoring record in one of two weekend wins for Bearcats

The Bainbridge won two region games Friday and Saturday night.  On Friday, the Bearcats defeated Westover at home with a score of 72-63.

Scoring in double figures for the Bearcats were Tyree Crump with 32 points, Trevon Shaw with 14 points and Malik Middleton with 12 points

On Saturday night, the Bearcats traveled to Sylvester, Ga., to play Worth County High School for another region game.

It was a battle of two young men wearing jersey number 24- Tyree Crump for Bainbridge and Worth County’s Anfernee McLemore. The Bearcats took care of business in overtime 96-93. Tyree Crump led all scorers with 55 points. Crump’s 55 set a school record for Bainbridge High School, surpassing LeRay Davis who scored 50 points for the Bearcats in a 1981 game. Other players in double figures for the Bearcats were Devonte Jones with 14.

The Bearcats are back in action this week with two region games at home.

On Tuesday, Dec, 16, Bainbridge, both the boys and girls varsity teams, as well as the girls’ junior varsity squad, will host Thomas County Central; tip-off for the varsity girls game is at 6 p.m. and the varsity boys game will follow.

On Friday night, Dec. 19, both boys and girls varsity teams, as well as both boys and girls’ JV, will host the Cairo Syrupmakers in region matchups.
