Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal has announced the appointment of Thomas H. Baxley to the Superior Court judgeship within the Pataula Judicial Circuit. Baxley will fill the vacancy created by the resignation of the Honorable Ronnie Joe Lane. The appointment will take effect upon swearing in.
Baxley is currently a solo practitioner in Blakely and has served as State Court judge of Early County since 1995. He earned his bachelor’s degree and law degree from the University of Georgia. He and his wife have two children and reside in Blakely, Ga.
Since June 1975, Thomas H. Baxley has served individual and corporate clients in Blakely, Early County, Georgia, as well as the surrounding counties. Mr. Baxley restricts his practice to representation in the areas of Real Estate, Probate and Administration, Estate Planning and Business Organization.
Thomas H. Baxley, born October 1, 1949, in Blakely, Georgia, attended Tulane University of Louisiana for two years and transferred to the University of Georgia, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in 1971 and Juris Doctor in 1975. Mr. Baxley was admitted to the bar and established his practice in Blakely in 1975. He is a member in good standing of the State Bar of Georgia and is an issuing agent for First American Title Insurance Company. Mr. Baxley has served as State Court Judge of Early County since 1995.
