Miss Georgia Maggie Bridges to lead Bainbridge Christmas Parade (Santa’s coming too)

Merry-Christmas-WEBThe City of Bainbridge is gearing up for the annual Christmas Parade to be held on Thursday, December 11. The parade will begin at 6:30 p.m. behind Memorial Hospital, and the Grand Marshal will be Miss Georgia 2014 Maggie Bridges.

Maggie was selected as Miss Georgia in June at the 70th Anniversary Miss Georgia competition in Columbus, and represented the state of Georgia in the Miss America pageant, held in September in Atlantic City, New Jersey. She grew up on a working farm in the small town of Brinson, GA, where her love of science began. The oldest of five children, she is the daughter of John and Cathy Bridges. Maggie is a senior in Business and Pre-Pharmacy at the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, and plans to earn a Doctor of Pharmacy degree and open her own pharmacy.

A number of local churches, businesses and community organizations will have lighted floats in the Bainbridge Christmas Parade, which will begin near the intersection of Wheat Avenue and Shotwell Street and head to the downtown square.

At the conclusion of the parade, makes plans to bring your family downtown to Willis Park in downtown Bainbridge, where Santa Claus will be waiting to hear children’s Christmas wishes.
