Hughes is Teacher of the Year at John Johnson Elementary

The 2014-2015 Jones-Wheat Teacher of the Year is Mrs. Ilesha Hughes. Mrs. Hughes teaches first grade at Jones-Wheat. She is married to Carlos Hughes and has two sons. Ahmad is currently enrolled in 2nd grade at Jones-Wheat and Aaron is in 5th grade at Hutto Middle School. Congratulations Mrs. Hughes and thank you for all you do for our students at JWE!

Harrison is Teacher of the Year at Elcan-King Elementary

Congratulations to Mrs. Patricia Harrison on being named the 2015-2016 Elcan-King Elementary Teacher of the Year. Mrs. Harrison is a special education teacher at EKE. She has been teaching for 22 years. She joined the faculty of Elcan-King in 2012. Mrs. Harrison has a love for teaching, especially working with challenging students. Her programs success has been in planting positive deposits in each of her students and believing in them. She reaches the heart of her students, and always demonstrates love, care and patience. She is a natural in getting the best results from her students in every situation. Once again, Congratulations Mrs. Harrison!

Livingston is Teacher of the Year at Potter Street Elementary

Jenny Livingston, a first-grade teacher at Potter Street Elementary, was recently honored as her school’s Teacher of the Year for 2014. Mrs. Livingston has been teaching for 16 years. She says: “I love teaching because every day is a surprise. I love to read and I hope to instill a life-long love of reading to the children in my class! I also enjoy watching a child mature through the year; it is very rewarding to have a part in the life of a child.”

Cox is Employee of the Year at John Johnson Elementary

Each year an employee of JJE is recognized as Employee of the Year. This year Christy Cox is our Employee of the Year. She is a fourth grade teacher and has headed the 21st Century After School Program this year. She has worked hard to make this a successful year for the after school program.
