Grady County NAACP to hold annual Freedom Fund Banquet on Sept. 27
The Grady County NAACP will be holding its annual Freedom Fund Banquet on Saturday, Sept. 27 at the Senior Center in Cairo beginning at 7 p.m. The speaker for the event will be Dr. Zerric Clinton, art teacher at Cairo High School.
Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door and available from NAACP members or by calling LaFaye at 377-6595.
Grady County Tour of Homes is Sept. 27
The Grady County Historical Society will have their 2014 Tour of Homes on Sept. 27. The tour will feature several local homes, businesses, churches and plantations. Tickets for the tour are on sale for $25 each with tickets the day of the tour sold for $30. Tickets may be purchased at the Grady County Museum and History Center, Cairo-Grady County Chamber of Commerce, Center Drugs, Cox Pharmacy, Hester’s Insurance, Miss Myrts or from Yvonne Childs. Downtown Bainbridge Opportunity Night to showcase what central business district has to offer
The Downtown Development Authority of Bainbridge is hosting a Downtown Opportunity Night Thursday, October 2 from 5 p.m.-7 p.m. at The Old Library located at 200 West Broughton Street. Downtown Opportunity Night is a way for the Downtown Development Authority of Bainbridge to showcase some of our finest historic buildings. Come and learn about local, state, and federal incentives and see how the incentives can make a downtown development project succeed. The incentives are part of an overall strategy to leverage investment, lower the cost of doing business and level the playing field for businesses and property owners choosing to invest in downtown properties.
The evening will begin with a social, then those in attendance will be able to hear first-hand from the experts in downtown development, and the evening will conclude with downtown property tours. Representatives from the Department of Community Affairs, Small Business Development Center, and Georgia Municipal Association will be in attendance and available to answer questions about their services.
Rivers Alive cleanup in Bainbridge is Oct. 4

24th Annual Pelham Wildlife Festival to offer great food, family fun
The 24th annual Pelham Wildlife Festival will be Saturday, Oct. 4 at Freedom and Kahn Park in downtown Pelham. Archbold Medical Center to hold ‘A Pink Affair’ to raise money for mammograms
