The Early County Sheriff’s Office received a call at 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 9th with reports of an injured man lying in the road on Jesse Johnson Street. Deputies say George was found unresponsive with visible head injuries. They believe it’s possible he was struck by a vehicle that left the scene.
George was taken to Pioneer Community Hospital in Blakely, before being transferred to Tallahassee, where he later died. An official cause of death will not be available until the completion of an autopsy by the GBI Division of Forensic Science, Medical Examiner’s Office.
