Public Safety Officer Timothy Shaw has been arrested by the GBI and relieved of his duties with the City of Bainbridge. According to the press release from City Manager Chris Hobby, Shaw was arrested after an incident that occurred while working part time for the City of Colquitt.

The City of Bainbridge has been made aware of the arrest of Public Safety Officer Timothy B. Shaw. PSO Shaw was arrested at the culmination of an investigation conducted by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation regarding an incident that occurred on May 15, 2019 while Shaw was working as a part-time officer for the Colquitt, Georgia Police Department. PSO Shaw is no longer an employee of the City of Bainbridge.
WALB reported that Shaw was also relieved of his duties with the City of Colquitt and has surrendered his credentials as a certified police officer in the State of Georgia. The WALB article states that Shaw was charged with three felony counts of theft by taking while on duty in Colquitt. The alleged incident occurred on May 15th and Shaw was relieved of his duties in Colquitt on May 17th.
