County Republicans Elect New Leadership Team

At its recent GOP reorganization meeting, Ann Marie Rose-Emmons was elected Decatur County Republican Chairwoman, replacing outgoing Chairman Brent Miller as the leader of the county’s political organization. Ms. Rose-Emmons’ professional career as a lawyer and professor spans twenty years and she currently works with her husband, Pete Emmons, at their law firm. Ann Marie brings a breadth of experience in political leadership, formally serving in several positions at the local, state and federal levels and was a delegate to the GOP National Convention in 2008. Pete and Ann Marie have four sons and one daughter at home and their two adult sons reside in Tallahassee.
Incoming Co-Vice Chair, Marlis Fewell, is a Family Service Worker with Southwest Georgia Community Action Council. A resident of Decatur County for 25 years, Marlis and her husband Daniel have two children, Gavin and Sadie. She and her family are members of the Maranatha Baptist Church in Climax. A tireless campaign warrior for Herman West, Ms. Fewell is enthusiastic about her new position and explains that she would like to see more members of our community gain an interest of how our government operates and pay closer attention to what our elected officials are doing and what they should be doing.
Newly elected GOP Co-Vice Chair Keith Sellars is the IT Manager at Georgia Federal-State Inspection service. Keith is a U.S. Navy veteran where he served as a Nuclear-Trained Electrician aboard a submarine. After leaving the military in 1991, Keith because an industrial electrician for the next ten years until he started his own successful media consulting and design business, operating it full-time until he was offered the chance to develop and build an IT department at the company where is now employed. Keith is married to Robin Sellars and has two daughters and one granddaughter. Keith currently serves as a member of the Board of Elections.
Dan Provence was re-elected to serve as Secretary/Treasurer of the Decatur County Republican Party. Owner and operator of Spring Hill Tree Farm, Mr. Provence has been the stalwart of the Decatur County Republican organization for over 20 years, serving as Chairman, 2nd District Vice Chair, and delegate to many State and District Conventions. Mr. Provence was appointed to the State Board of the Governor’s Council on Children and Families where he served for ten years. A dedicated advocate for children, Mr. Provence has been very actively involved with the local CASA organization as a Board member, Chair, and is currently the Volunteer Coordinator. Dan is a former President, District Lieutenant Governor and current member of the Kiwanis Club and serves on the Board of Elections. Dan and his wife Bonnie are the proud parents of two adult children: Daniel, of LaGrange, and Aubrey, of Atlanta.
